We are about 2/3 of the way through the project and making good time!

Need a little turquoise in your life?

Need a little turquoise in your life?

The fabric started off with dark blues, eased it’s way into some lighter shades, picked up some bright teals and here is where we have landed! Next, I’m thinking of adding a few dark greens to tone it down a bit.

Measuring my squares

Measuring my squares

My lovely accent yarns come into play every so many inches. This part of the process just makes sure I’m not dozing off at the loom! It’s good to have some checks & balances while you’re weaving! Otherwise odd things can happen – like randomly changing the pattern, tossing the shuttle into the Blueray speaker, and slipping off the weaving bench in an effort to pick up aforementioned shuttle. Just, hypothetically speaking…

Making progress!

Making progress!

It’s so much fun to watch the roll of fabric on the front growing and the roll of yarn on the back shrinking! (It really doesn’t take much for me, if you hadn’t figured that out already…)

Toning it down a bit...

Toning it down a bit…

(Have you ever tried to “autocorrect” your photos and they don’t quite look right? That’s sort of what I’m dealing with. Clearly, my point-and-shoot has issues with blues and greens. There’s also a distinct possibility that part of it could be user ignorance… but don’t let that get around…)

Easing into some greens

Easing into some greens

It’s always interesting when working on a project to see how the plans in your head translate to the fabric. I anticipated having more time/space for greens in the project. And clearly, I stuck around to play in blue-land longer than anticipated! Not that I’m disappointed. It’s just a curious thing that occurs when you play it by ear!

Here are the players!

The end is in sight!

The end is in sight!

The knots are coming! The knots are coming! The project is wrapping up! And instead of making this a very LONG post, I’ll draw out the anticipation one more week! The great unveiling will happen in a mere 7 days! Woohoo! Hang tight, my friends!!!
