Ready to talk about weaving temples?

You’ve measured your project and calculated the exact width you want. You’ve sleyed the reed and everything looks great. Then you start weaving, and suddenly you’re in a battle with draw-in. You try all of your tricks and no luck, the project just keeps getting narrower.

It’s time for a weaving temple, my friends! I’m not referring to a place to pay homage to the weaving gods (though I’ve done my share of that!), but a handy tool that helps you maintain the desired width of your project.

And who better to walk us through the ins, outs, and wonders of the weaving temple than my friend Caryl Bohn. Caryl has been weaving for 30 years and finds weaving temples indispensable. I certainly learned a few things from her and I know you will too. Happy weaving!

Show Notes –

Caryl Bohn – Caryl, our fabulous teacher today, is well-known for a number of registered Scottish tartans. Plus, she has a YouTube channel (DunRovin Station) that you can check out here. (You can also say “hi” to Caryl nearly every Thursday on Live at the Loom!)

Summer Weaving Camp –

Summer is a great time to learn new things! If you’re ready to dive in to the wonderful world of weaving (or know someone who is) then my Acton Creative Summer Weaving Camp is just for you! Over the course of 5 days (June 23-27) we will introduce you to the basics of weaving, teach you some weaving terms, show how you can use handwoven fabric in other crafts, and most importantly, have a fun activity every day (because the best part of camp is the fun part!). Perfect for anyone new to weaving or weaving-curious. Ready to jump in? Go to https://tinyurl.com/weavingcamp for more information & to register.
