Let’s talk technique today and discuss the process of creating a break in your fabric. As weavers, we like to weave multiple items in one project. And sometimes you need some unwoven inches in between those items. In today’s episode, I’m walking you through a few options on how to do that. Enjoy!
Show Notes –
Hemstitching – Christina Garton created a great post for Handwoven Magazine all about hemstitching, including different styles of hemstitching. Talk about a great resource when creating a break in your fabric! Click here to check it out.
Weaving Hems – If you like this theme of finishing a weaving project, I have a great episode all about “Weaving Hems”. Now I will fully admit to you that I don’t sew. So, this episode talks about the process of hems strictly from the weaver’s perspective. (But I’ve worked with a LOT of seamstresses over the years and they tell me things.) Feel free to check out episode 156 right here.
October 2024 Weave Along –
It’s here! The October 2024 Weave Along program has started & this time around, it’s all about the diamonds. Be sure to check out the OWAL Central Page to order your project instructions, yarn, and tote bag, as well as answer any questions you have. I can’t wait to see what you weave this time!
