I have a great episode for you today – it’s “5 Easy Variations on any Pattern”. But first, let me set the scene for you.
There’s something magical about the rhythm of weaving. I love settling down with a fresh warp and watching the pattern come to life in the fabric. But warps can feel long, my friend, and that means that at some point in the process I start to get bored. Sure, the original pattern is lovely. But is there any way to change it up without crawling under my loom and changing the tie-ups?
I have good news – you absolutely have options no matter what pattern you are weaving! In this episode of A Handwoven Experience, I share 5 easy variations that you can use with any pattern. It’s a nice, easy way to mix things up without going crazy changing your tie-ups or your weft. Give them a try and see what wonderful new patterns emerge! Happy weaving!
Show Notes –
Twill Variations – Speaking of variations, the world of twill is vast. So, SOOO vast! If you wanted to try some variations in a more organized approach, I have an interesting blog post to offer you from A Thrifty Notion. Check it out right here.
Bird’s Eye Twill – In our episode, I mentioned that my loom was set up for a bird’s eye twill pattern. If this fabulous twill variation is new to you, I’ve got you covered. Click here to watch episode 112, “Bird’s Eye Twill”.
