Do you have UFOs (unfinished objects) at your house? A plan that didn’t get off the ground? Maybe a dressed loom with a partially woven blanket? Or possibly a set of woven placemats that just need the fringe added? Sound familiar?
I bet I have no less than 2 dozen UFOs at the moment. So much potential just waiting for a burst of energy to get them across the finish line!
In today’s episode of A Handwoven Experience, I’m tackling the challenge of “unfinishing” head on. Hopefully, one of these tools will encourage you to pull out your own project and give it a little gas to complete it.
Show Notes –
Knitting UFOs – I love doing a bit of cross-pollinating with other fiber-related crafts, and it turns out many of them also use the “UFO” abbreviation – even having a bit of fun with it! For instance, there is a blog post from KnitPicks that was released on World UFO Day! (Ha! I love a sense of humor!) In the post, the staff feature their individual unfinished projects and tell stories about how they came to be, which is entertaining and awesome! Enjoy the post right here.
How to Replace a Warp Yarn – If one of the reasons you’ve stalled on your project is due to a broken warp yarn, I’ve got just the bit of information you need to get moving and grooving once again. Take a look at episode 52 here. You’ll be tossing that shuttle again in no time!
