I’m in the mood for playing with pinwheels – how about you? Pinwheel is a pattern that resembles the colorful, lightweight toy on a stick that spins around when the wind gets hold of it.

While the toy is fun, it’s got nothing on the weaving pattern! Imagine using just 2 colors in both the warp and the weft to create this seemingly complicated-looking pattern. And all the while, you’re simply doing some twill and letting the magic happen! It’s that easy!

Check out episode 139, “Playing with Pinwheels” to get more details.

Show Notes –

8-Shaft Pinwheels – I found an interesting blog post from Weaving Space that shows pinwheel variations using an 8-shaft loom. Now, I strictly work on a 4-shaft loom, but I know that many of you enjoy diving into more complicated versions using more shafts. So, this is for you! Click here to get inspired by some 8-shaft pinwheel patterns.

Color & Weave – Back at episode 135, I did a deep dive into color & weave and what that description tells us. So, if you aren’t familiar, wander over to this video to hear more!
