Every weaver has a different approach to washing & drying handwoven items – and that’s okay! But if you are just beginning your weaving journey and need a direction to follow, this video is for you!

In it, I’ll walk you through my strategy for when an item needs to be washed & dried, and then exactly how I do it. It’s a piece of cake! This will give you a place to begin, so you can finish up your gorgeous handwoven items.

Show Notes –

Wet Finishing – You KNOW I like to hear about opposing ideas, right? So, I’ve found a great article written by Laura Fry who talks about wet finishing. What it is and why it’s important. What struck me as fascinating was that she particularly focuses on woolen fabric. If you find yourself working with a lot of wool, you may want to give her strategy a try! Here’s the link to read more about it.

2 Finishing Tips – If you are interested in a few tips for how to put the final touches on your handwoven item, episode 61 of A Handwoven Experience will do the trick! In it, I talk about an easy swap to make sure your warp yarns don’t split, as well as a simple technique for making beautiful fringe. Click here to enjoy.
